Meet Bill Black
At home in New Orleans, Bill is a member of the Mystery Writers of America and the International Thriller Writers. Previously, he was a book publisher and helped develop several legendary book series including Goosebumps and The Baby-Sitters Club.
His publishing career encompassed stints in New York, London, Los Angeles, Paris, Washington DC, Vero Beach, Shanghai, San Juan, Zurich, and Havana. On-the-spot experiences heavily influence the background and plots of each of his books.
His main character, #1 Best-Selling heroine Erica Banks, like his books, springs from real life. The trauma wreaked on her sister, Mallory, which is at the heart of First Came The Drowning and The Ocean Hides a Killer, is based on actual events from Bill’s youth. Her adventures in our mutual hometown of New Orleans that are woven throughout the best-selling Two Bullets In A Bayou are all real places, with characters drawn from New Orlean’s intense local color. And as for his latest, A Body In The Rhine, yes, he did once go to Beijing and bribe a general. To learn more about that, you’ll just have to read the book.
When he’s not writing, editing, or researching, Bill is a golfer, a martini lover, and the family cook.
If you’d like to get in touch with Bill about scheduling an interview, speaking engagement, book signing, or just to tell him what a fan you are of his work, you can email him at bill@billblackbooks.com.
